How Much Does a Concrete Driveway Cost in Salt Lake Valley?

The honest breakdown of what drives driveway concrete costs — and why a phone quote without seeing your lot is a guess, not a number.

If you're looking for a single dollar figure for a concrete driveway in the Salt Lake Valley, here's the honest answer: we won't invent a number. What we will do is explain exactly what drives the cost — so when you get a real quote, you know what you're paying for and why.

What Drives Driveway Concrete Cost

Every driveway quote breaks down to the same set of variables. Understanding these makes you a smarter buyer — whether you hire us or someone else.

Square Footage

The biggest factor. More concrete, more labor, more time. Our minimum project size is 300 sq ft — below that, the fixed costs of mobilization don't make sense for you or us.

Slab Thickness

Standard residential driveway: 4 inches. Heavy vehicles, RVs, or truck traffic: 5+ inches. More concrete means more cost — but a 4-inch slab under a diesel truck will crack. We size the slab to what you actually drive on it.

Demolition and Haul-Off

Replacing an existing driveway means demo and disposal of the old concrete. That's labor, equipment, and dump fees. New construction skips this entirely.

Reinforcement

Rebar or wire mesh. Reinforcement doesn't prevent cracking — it holds cracks together so a hairline crack doesn't become a separated slab. Heavier reinforcement costs more but extends the life of the driveway.

Site Access

If a concrete truck can reach your driveway easily, the pour is straightforward. If access is tight — narrow street, long sidewalk, landscaping to protect — that's more labor and sometimes a pump truck.

Drainage Corrections

If your current driveway pitches toward the garage or pools water, we fix the grade. That's extra prep work but prevents water damage to your home — a lot cheaper than foundation repairs later.

What Decreases Cost

Standard broom finish (no decorative stamping or coloring), clear truck access, smaller scope (but above the 300 sq ft minimum), and no demo — these keep the number down.

Why We Don't Quote Over the Phone

A phone quote is a guess. We can't see your soil, your slope, your access, or your existing concrete. The walk-through is where we measure and give you a real number — and where your start date goes in the contract before any deposit.

See our pricing page for the full breakdown of cost drivers, and our FAQ for common questions about quotes and deposits.
